Nigerian singer, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, popularly known as Dbanj created a scene at the Trace Awards when he referred to his fellow singer and close friend, Davido, as “Baba Ibeji.”
This heartwarming gesture was in response to the news of Davido recently welcoming twins in the United States.
This remarkable event unfolded at the Trace Awards, held in Kigali, Rwanda, which serves as a platform to celebrate the creativity, talent, and influence of African and Afro-inspired music and artists.
Earlier, we had reported the joyous news of Davido’s twins’ birth in the United States, where he was seen in a recent video with his wife, father, and the newborn twins.
Just hours apart, Davido acknowledged the extraordinary nature of the situation.
He shared his thoughts, saying, “It is very hard. A lot of people that those things happened to you would never want to believe in God in your life.”
“But to still have faith and do what I love having a great team around me; I was just focusing.”
“Now we are almost at the finish line and this is a story I want people to see and watch.”
“When me and my wife found out that we were having twins, we were shaking. Then it was in the same month.”
“My son died last year in October and my wife gave birth this year October so it is crazy.”
A few days later, D’banj extended his heartfelt congratulations to Davido at the Trace Awards.
The awards ceremony was co-hosted by D’Banj and the Angolan global supermodel, Maria Borges.
It featured an impressive lineup of performers, including Davido, Yemi Alade, Black Sherif, Kizz Daniel, and more.
