Talented Nigerian rapper, Cheque comes through with a new EP which he title “Chequemate” and it consists of 6 dope tracks and it features 2 artistes; Fireboy DML & Crayon.
Since breaking through with a record which he tagged “Zoom“ in 2020, the Penthauze boy has stood out among Afropop’s newest generation of stars for the sonic choices that propelled his breakout project, Razor. Working with a distinct sonic palette that couches his traditionalist rap flows into sure-footed doses of saccharine earworms and heart-wrenching melodies.
The release of his debut EP tagged “Bravo” in 2022 expanded on his public narrative while adding more exciting twists to his fusionist sound.
On Chequemate which is his latest body of work, rapper continues to deftly sidestep categorisation while fine-tuning the formula that has made him one of Nigeria’s most highly regarded musicians. In the video that is already trending online, the man can be seen kneeling beside the girl and manually rolling the ceiling fan whenever it slows down, ensuring the lady sleeps comfortably.
